McBride & The Ride Releases Their New EP, Live At Handlebar J, Out Today

In honor of their 35th anniversary, ACM and CMA nominees McBride & The Ride are excited to release their new EP, Live At Handlebar J, available today! For the first time, the beloved ’90s country group—famous for hits like "Love On The Loose, Heart On The Run," "Sacred Ground," and "Going Out Of My Mind"—offers live versions of their biggest songs and fan favorites. Featuring all three original members—Terry McBride (vocals/bass), Ray Herndon (vocals/guitar), and Billy Thomas (vocals/drums)—fans can now experience their iconic performances anytime, anywhere.
“We met in ’89 and really got to know each other by spending a lot of time rehearsing and working out those three-part harmonies,” shares McBride. “Our sound guy would record our performance each night so we could critique our set and work on ways to improve our live show. We even set up amps and spent our downtime rehearsing on the bus as we were going down road. We took a lot of pride in sounding good back then and three decades later we still do. Our fans always wanted us to record a live record so this new live EP is for the fans and anyone who’s never had a chance to hear McBride & The Ride live.”
McBride & The Ride recently released “Amarillo Sky” as the first track from their LIVE EP, which was premiered by Center Stage Magazine, and followed it up with “No More Cryin’, which was premiered by Cowboys & Indians. Their latest single, “Going Out Of My Mind” was premiered by M Music & Musicians Magazine. As part of their release celebration, McBride & The Ride will take the stage at Chief’s on Broadway in Nashville, Tennessee tonight. The band will also hit the road with stops in Georgia and Texas, with more dates being added to their tour schedule. Fans can look forward to hearing the group’s biggest ’90s hits, along with fan favorites from their first three albums, Amarillo Sky, and tracks from their 2023 comeback EP, Marlboros & Avon.
On top of celebrating their 35th anniversary as a band, McBride & The Ride is also excited to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the blockbuster hit movie 8 Seconds, starring Luke Perry in which their single “No More Cryin’” was included on the soundtrack and the band also appeared in the film.
Sobre
When they first began releasing music in 1989, McBride & The Ride released three acclaimed albums Burnin’ Up The Road, Sacred Ground, and Hurry Sundown, with hit singles like "Love on the Loose, Heart on the Run," “Sacred Ground,” "Going Out of My Mind," and many more. In the spring of 2021, they announced they were reuniting and going back in the studio to record new music. Though the band has been on and off over the past 30 years, its members have thrived through their individual careers. Ray Herndon has been Lyle Lovett’s lead guitarist since 1985 and has had songs cut by Kenny Chesney, Aaron Tippin, Lee Greenwood, Linda Davis, and more. Terry McBride has had quite a fruitful career, writing major hits for Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire, Easton Corbin, Cody Johnson, and more. He toured with Brooks & Dunn through most of their biggest years playing bass and writing songs. Billy Thomas moved to Nashville from Los Angeles in 1987 and immediately started working with Vince Gill along with many other country stars (Emmylou Harris, Patty Loveless, Steve Wariner & Earl Scruggs). He’s been Gill’s drummer on the road and in the studio ever since, adding background vocals to his many hits, as well as joining him as a member of renowned Nashville super-group, The Time Jumpers. In 2002, the band released their fifth studio album, ‘Amarillo Sky,’ which continues to be a fan favorite at every show. The trio’s previous EP, Marlboros & Avon, produced by all three members, was released in 2023, and their new EP Live at Handlebar J is out now and available to listen HERE. For more information.

It takes a myriad of professionals to turn this wheel we call the music business: radio air personalities, tour managers, record label insiders, specialists in television programming, directors of live events and publicists who provide artists with the exposure needed to keep the wheel in motion. Knowledge is power, and executive/entrepreneur Jeremy Westby is the power behind 2911 Enterprises. Westby is the rare individual whose twenty-five years of experience in the music industry champions each of those arenas—on a multi genre level in all realms. After all, how many people can say they’ve worked side by side with Megadeth, Meat Loaf, Michael W. Smith and Dolly Parton? Westby can.
