MCBAISE Unveils New Single ‘Cold Cuts’ ft. Muthi — Out 18th July on Dirty Melody Records

Following the viral success of Alice — with over 500,000 streams and 600,000 YouTube views — French producer, illustrator, and cult figure MCBAISE aka Mcbess returns with Cold Cuts, the third single from his upcoming album, out later this year via Dirty Melody Records.
A collaboration with Muthi — a psychedelic pop project between Mcbess and artist Matt Christensen — Cold Cuts is a shimmering, sun-drenched jam laced with choppy guitars, punchy bass, and velvety synths. Tinged with '90s nostalgia and playful surrealism, the track is paired with a brand-new video, directed by MCBAISE himself — his first since 2021’s Water Slide.
“Cold Cuts bottles the electric joy of being in a supermarket in the '90s, and finally getting your hands on that Sonic & Knuckles Mega Drive cartridge — the one with the slot on top for stacking another game,” says MCBAISE. “It’s a little capsule of elation and excitement, contrasting the jagged saccade of the guitar and bass riff with the shimmering velvet of the synth. Night and day, you could say.”
Cold Cuts follows the summer success of Alice, which launched with a limited-edition collectible toy and a streetwear collaboration with fashion label The Dudes. With hints of Christensen’s upbringing in Africa and the duo’s globe-spanning misadventures, Muthi brings a woozy, off-kilter charm to MCBAISE’s signature aesthetic.
The single offers another glimpse into MCBAISE’s highly anticipated new album — the long-awaited follow-up to 2021’s Tubes — with rumours of live shows in 2025 stirring anticipation among fans.
