Isaac Roux's Debut Album ‘Troubled Waters’ Out Now

Louis De Roo sa già una cosa o due su ciò che la vita può gettare su una persona, ma questo giovane compositore belga è ancora molto sulla soglia di una promettente carriera musicale internazionale. Il suo album ‘Troubled Waters’ come Isaac Roux è uscito.

Fin da giovane, De Roo ha sempre avuto un buon naso per il popolo indie edge e celeste, e nel 2015 è stato tra i pochi felici ammessi alla scuola d'arte LIPA di Paul McCartney. Uscendo con un certificato e un perfetto accento inglese alcuni anni dopo, De Roo ha avuto il dono di mettere le sue emozioni e l'anima in canzoni avvolte in chitarre che si costruiscono nel momento giusto. Pensa: Bon Iver, Ben Howard, Asgeir e le volpi della flotta.

Il suo singolo di debutto e breakthrough White Rose (che non è nell'album) è diventato un successo alternativo in Belgio e nei Paesi Bassi, con i singoli di seguito Colours e Autumn Love che aprono le porte in Germania (radioeins), Francia (Radio Néo) e Austria (FM4) e a playlist in streaming alla moda. La combinazione di caldo indie folk e rock alternativo di Roux funziona ancora meglio sul palco, non mancando mai di lasciare la folla a bocca aperta, come durante una sessione live sulla radio nazionale tedesca (Deutschlandfunk Kultur). Impressionando le folle ai festival Rock Werchter e Pukkelpop nel suo paese d'origine, ha fatto lo stesso nei Paesi Bassi e in Germania (giocando Reeperbahn tre volte), e sostenendo Dotan nella sua tournée europea in luoghi come Londra, Parigi e Vienna.

Now there’s debut album ‘Troubled Waters’, an indie folk album which in the hands of producer Bert Vliegen (Whispering Sons, DIRK., Meltheads) also embraces its bright and poppy side. Opening track and lead single Brotherhood is a breathtakingly beautiful piano ballad about a lost friendship. On tracks like Colours, When It Storms and Golden, Isaac Roux sounds epic, even more evident live, while tracks like Autumn Love, Reflections, U&I and Soaking Skin show his more intimate and delicate side

Every song, and the album as a whole, gives the listener a glimpse into the life of De Roo, who hasn’t always had it easy, hoping that his music can give people in similar situations something to hold on to. “To vince, to lose, to dream and to hope, they’re just some of the things that have shaped me into the person that I am today”, De Roo says. “And through my stories I hope to provide a little bit of a moral compass for people who, like me, haven’t always been treated nicely by life.”

Isaac Roux is playing release shows at Privatklub in Berlin (3 December), AB in Brussels (7 December) and Paradiso in Amsterdam (21 December).
