Multi-Platinum Rock Superstars Good Charlotte Release New Holiday Single

Today, genre-bending multi-platinum rock superstars Good Charlotte unwrap their brand new holiday cover of the punk classic “Fairytale of New York.” Listen HERE and watch the official lyric video on YouTube HERE.

Legendary punk icons The Pogues originally dropped “Fairytale of New York” [feat. Kirsty MacColl] back in 1987. Nearly forty years later, Good Charlotte pay homage to the classic while simultaneously making it their own by updating it with the signature GC sound.

About “Fairytale of New York,” Good Charlotte commented, “This has always been one of our favorite Christmas songs of all time! What a classic story - We have always wanted to do our own little version of it with our friends and family for years to come. The band joins the star-studded lineup for ABC’s annual television special, The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular, with the first official performance of the track, set to air on December 1 and available to stream the following day on Hulu and Disney+.

Tonight, they’re set to headline Neon City Festival in Las Vegas, NV. Firing on all cylinders in the new year, the guys will kick things off with their first Los Angeles show in a decade at the iHeartRadio ALTer EGO on January 17, followed by a massive headline tour in Australia and New Zealand. It commences on February 17 in Perth and sees them roll throughBrisbane, Ascot, Sydney, and more. Plus, they’re set to grace the stages of Sonic Templeand Slam Dunk Festival.

Back in August, Good Charlotte returned with their first new album in seven years—the acclaimed Motel Du Cap. Good Charlotte’s “Act 2,” as the Madden brothers lovingly call it, sees them reuniting with their original bandmates—Paul Thomas (bass) and Billy Martin (guitar)—bringing fans nostalgic excitement. Motel Du Cap is a collision of raw riffs, inner truth, and unapologetic energy, channeling the authenticity of their self-titled debut album with the emotional impact that defined The Young and the Hopeless. True to their genre-defying style, this collection of songs showcases their signature rock sound with diverse elements, incorporating rap, country, and soul. The idea for Motel Du Cap was first sparked when Good Charlotte played a private gig at the iconic Hotel du Cap in France, for Joel’s younger sister’s wedding in 2023. Surrounded by the beauty of the venue, the raw emotion of the occasion, and the freedom of performing without expectation, the experience fueled a renewed sense of passion for the Madden brothers. “It was this wild, once-in-a-lifetime vibe,” Joel recalls. “We were just there to celebrate, no pressure, and it reminded us why we started this—pure, unfiltered connection.” That night became the heartbeat of the album, a love letter to stripping things back and letting the music speak for itself.
