California Americana-rock duo The Taproots return with their second studio album, “Comedy of Fools,” available now on all major streaming platforms. Following the critically acclaimed “Tales of Wonderland,” the album presents a new set of original, lyric-driven compositions that continue the duo’s storytelling-focused approach.

Drawing from Americana, rock, country, reggae, and folk, this new recording blends standard rock instrumentation with ukulele, pedal steel, accordion, and mandolin. The Taproots feature singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tom Walters and award-winning vocalist Nicole Cassingham, best known for weaving multiple musical influences with strong harmonies and compelling storytelling.
L'album è stato registrato nei Momboe Studios di Woodland Hills da Michael C. Mason, con l'ingegnere / mixer Ross Pallone (Christopher Cross, Chris Isaak), con tre tracce tagliate presso Oppossumopolis Studio a Los Osos, CA da Steve Ahlgrim. Originariamente di Los Angeles, Walters ha tagliato il suo primo brano in vinile con “Weird Al” Yankovic al college, seguito da un album per il rilascio internazionale con il duo Iverson e Walters attraverso Eagle Records a Nashville. Da allora ha suonato in una serie di band che vanno dalle radici acustiche al jazz moderno, condividendo tappe con artisti come Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer, Country Joe McDonald, Bryan White, Maria Muldaur e altri. Walters è anche un regista premiato, ed è attraverso il suo lavoro nell'industria cinematografica che ha attraversato i percorsi con i veterani della registrazione Mason e Ferguson.
Nicole Cassingham è una cantante e giocatore di ukulele originaria della San Francisco Bay Area. È cresciuta suonando in teatro musicale e successivamente in numerose fiere e concorsi sulla costa occidentale. Al college, si unì a un ensemble jazz con George Lewis e altri gruppi, continuando a registrare l'album completo Mood Swing con il gruppo di rock alternativo californiano Monkey Wagon.
