Philadelphia-based Traditional Heavy Metal band Corners of Sanctuary (COS) has debuted a powerful new video for their cover of Black Sabbath's iconic 1970 track, "Paranoid." This blistering rendition, featured on the holiday compilation album A NAUGHTY & NICE MERRY METAL XMAS XI, showcases the band’s raw energy and technical prowess while paying tribute to one of the most influential songs in Heavy Metal history.
The video, which artistically depicts the mental breakdown of an individual, amplifies the impact of COS's take on "Paranoid," blending their signature sound with the spirit of a timeless classic. COS delivers a fresh yet reverent spin on the song, capturing the essence of a past era while propelling it into modern times with their galloping beat and driving rhythms.
COS guitarist Mick Michaels shared, "The song is a classic in every sense of the word. Paying homage to it, for us, is like a rite of passage."
