R&B Artist ilham Drops Confident New Single "roster" on February 28
Moroccan R&B artist ilham who is gearing up to release her new single “roster” this Friday, February 28th. Marking her first release of the year, ilham channels the most confident version of herself on the forthcoming single. Over a wave of distorted synths, the songstress delivers ruthless lyrics to let her dating roster know that she’s the one in control.
Produced by GRAMMY Award winner Kevin "Kofo" Ekofo (Wizkid, Fridayy, Khalid, Burna Boy), “roster” arrives shortly after ilham made her runway debut this month at MEFeater Magazine’s Galentine’s NYFW show wearing RMA Apparel. Her previously shared track “games” landed on Spotify’s ‘R&B Weekly’ and Apple Music’s ‘New in R&B,’ ‘Breaking R&B,’ ‘Alt-R&B,’ and ‘Day One’ playlists while earning praise from The New York Times and The FADER. Her first independent release “uhm...ok?,” which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music 1 Show, speaks on not caring what people think and no longer taking things personal. ilham’s seductive new-age music and dreamy visuals are influenced by R&B legends and her Moroccan heritage, offering a new take on the ever-evolving genre. In 2018, ilham made waves with her debut EP 41-10, home to collaborations with Dave East and Arin Ray, earning early support from Billboard, VIBE, The FADER, and Earmilk. The project also received nods from Issa Rae and Raphael Saadiq who featured “none of your friends business” in the season 2 finale of HBO’sInsecure. ilham’s self-released 2019 follow-up EP with time soared to #1 on iTunes Top R&B Albums Chart and attracted the attention of industry tastemakers like Joe Budden, French Montana, and Travis Mills.
