Dom Malin Celebrates Timeless Connection with 'Blood Moon'

Dom Malin has returned with another profound and relatable slice of indie-folk serenity with ‘Blood Moon’. This single follows ‘Tapping Out’, which earlier this year took the likes of Alexrainbird Music, EARMILK and Amazing Radio by storm, and this new release reaffirms why this British singer-songwriter is currently a one to watch. With a growing army of fans cultivated through consistent TikTok Lives, a thriving Patreon community, and the always essential live gigs, Malin is stepping into his most confident era yet. You can hear that in ‘Blood Moon’, with its full-bodied instrumentation, sweeping melodies, and amber-toned production, this track really stands out as something special.

Themes of nature and human connection are once again central muses to Malin’s songwriting process. Here, he finds parallels in the magnetic beauty of a lunar event to the ever lingering presence of a loved one or dear friend in his life, even though they’re far away and they haven’t spoken in a while.
“Blood Moon is a tender and nostalgic reflection on the kind of connection that never truly fades — that one person who holds a piece of your heart, no matter how much time has passed or how many lives you’ve lived since. I wrote it while revisiting Seattle, a city that feels like a living memory in itself. The song became a metaphor for that rare, gravitational bond — like the blood moon, it’s something beautiful, raw, and awe-inspiring, something you don’t see every day but feel the pull of when it appears. It’s about the quiet comfort of knowing that someone’s presence, even from afar, still brings warmth and light to your life. Musically, it’s atmospheric and intimate — shaped by soft melancholy, glowing hope, and a deep sense of belonging.”
Flourishes of americana punctuate this track, influenced by time spent in the States, as well as that indie-folk warmth and some rocky textures, and yet what it really comes down to is well-crafted, timeless songwriting. It’s all about finding meaning in the smallest of moments; the flicker of light, a passing memory, the vision of a russet-red moon in the evening sky.
Chi siamo
“I distinctly remember coming home from a camping trip in Wales, and “One of Us” by Joan Osborn was playing on the radio. Music has shaped my life, almost like milestones—from rushing home to watch the latest MTV music videos as a young teen, to sharing music with my friends, being inspired by Damien Rice’s live performance at Glastonbury, “Hey There Delilah” coming on in the middle of an art class. These moments are marked by music, which drew me into it and allowed me to discover emotions that I wanted to emulate and discover in my style.”
On several occasions, he has been the artist of the week for BBC Introducing Lincolnshire and gained support through numerous music platforms, including the veritable Mahogany. Dom Malin has boundless enthusiasm for playing live.
In 2023, he supported Paris Paloma on her UK tour, supported Dermot Kennedy’s Sonder tour, and headed up his own tour through Germany and Switzerland. In 2024, he joined fellow singer-songwriter Luna Keller for an extensive tour across Germany and the Netherlands and supported Hazlett on his first US solo tour. Earlier this year, Dom also added another country to his gig list with his first headline gig in Madrid.
