ASAVA Ascend With “Valhalla”

Rising alt-metal stars continue their creative journey with a powerful new single and official visual.
ASAVA are set to perform at Riot Fest in Chicago on Saturday, September 19.
“(ASAVA) thread modern atmospherics, progressive riffs and twisting, shimmering melodies into moments of heart-shattering catharsis…a universe of sound and image shaped by obsession, reinvention and the hard-earned clarity that sometimes losing control is the first step toward finding it.” – REVOLVER
Alt-metal rising stars ASAVA continue their unstoppable creative journey with today’s premiere of their latest single, “Valhalla,” available now via Atlantic Records / MDDN here. A powerfully unsettling official music video directed, edited, and starring ASAVA frontman Liam Brocious is streaming now on YouTube here.
“‘Valhalla’ is a further exploration of the uncanny and unsettling horror elements of ASAVA,” says Brocious. “I really like how uncomfortable and cosmic our song ‘Acceptance’ is on Mantras, and I wanted to make a sort of Part Two to it. I couldn’t stand my first couple attempts ‘cause everything just sounded like trying to make that song again, and I hate when bands do that. I showed Spencer what I was going for and asked him to cook something sexy and scary that would rip in a club. He sent the main part of the song over about an hour later. This song’s definitely a testament to how insane he is as a producer and the band’s overall versatility. And while the video wasn’t easy to make, it was instantly clear that we should make a grungy underground club scene like The Matrix or Blade. And of course, make it unnecessarily disturbing on the way out.”
“Vahalla” follows the recent arrival of the incendiary “Leigh,” available now here alongside an equally intense official visual streaming here.
Hailed by REVOLVER for its “ominous slow-crush feel – an ebb and flow of distorted fireworks dissipating into an ambient pool of strings,” “Leigh” marked the second chapter in the Canton, OH-based band’s ongoing How Long Is Forever? series, a dark detective saga which began in 2025 with the intensely visceral visual for the fan favorite, “Rue,” streaming here.
ASAVA will also make an eagerly awaited live performance at Chicago, IL’s upcoming Riot Fest, joining Tool, Morrissey, Nas, Angine de Poitrine, and many others on Saturday, September 19. Additional dates will be announced soon. For updates, please visit www.asavaband.com/tour.
ASAVA have quietly emerged as heavy music’s most thrilling outliers, amassing tens of millions of streams, critical acclaim, and obsessive curiosity among a growing audience. The group– comprised of Liam Brocius (vocals), Greg Cochran (bass), Spencer Cindia (drums), and Zach Rusher (guitar) – began carving their idiosyncratic path with such tracks as “Gift,” “25,” and “Canyon,” before making their volatile full-length debut with 2025’s Mantras. Highlighted by jarring songs like “Confidence“ and the aforementioned “Rue,” the album affirmed ASAVA’s subversive vision and cathartic sonic approach, an immersive, wide-screen sound powered by mesmerizing hooks, polyrhythmic riffing, haunting trip-hop textures, and a truly original, undeniably disturbing lyrical power. Now, with “Valhalla,” ASAVA are poised to cut a lasting mark on contemporary heavy music and culture.
