On the fast track towards a breakthrough in 2026, acclaimed Ohio alternative singer, songwriter, and phenomenon Knox kicks off his next chapter with the release of a new single and music video entitled “After The After Party” out now via Atlantic Records. Listen here and watch the music video here. It heralds the arrival of his anxiously awaited sophomore full-length album, My Midwest Best, on October 2, 2026. Pre-order/Pre-save here.

“After The After Party” opens with a softly plucked electric guitar melody awash in reverb and echo. During the verses, unfiltered emotion seeps through the cracks of his vulnerable delivery. An acoustic chord progression accelerates the momentum until guitar boosts the heartbroken hook, “‘Cause after the after party, I’ll walk myself home, one more drink and stare at the phone, hoping you’ll call, knowing you won’t.” It climaxes with one last chantable crescendo that’s as sticky as it is sharp.

He notably shot the accompanying visual in his hometown of New Carlisle, OH, reconnecting with where he came from and welcoming everyone into his world all at once.

About the song, Knox commented, “After the After Party is the second single of my brand new album. It is the tone setter for what the album is going to be. Big, anthemic, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, meant to be seen live in person.”

For My Midwest Best, he mined some of his earliest influences, rediscovering classic pop-punk and emo such as Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, The All-American Rejects, and more. At the same time, he filtered this inspiration through his own individual lens, striking up a sound that’s undeniably Knox.

Regarding the album, he elaborated, “My Midwest Best is my proudest work to date. It’s the culmination of all the music I grew up listening to and all the music I learned how to make along the way. A representation of where I’m from and what it sounded like growing up in the middle of nowhere, Ohio.”

He initially teased this chapter with “Long Story Short.” Beyond cracking 1 million total streams and counting, it earned critical acclaim. Rock Sound praised, “Viciously catchy and brilliantly heartbroken, it is everything that makes Knox the storyteller and emotion merchant that they are.”

About

Knox revamps, revitalizes, and re-energizes emo and pop-punk with a fresh punch. Growing up in New Carlisle, OH, he fell in love with music as a kid, obsessing over Fall Out Boy, The All-American Rejects, Boys Like Girls, Panic! At The Disco, Hawthorne Heights, and more. In 2019, he relocated to Nashville and launched a career behind-the-scenes as a songwriter. 2022 saw him embrace the spotlight as a solo artist with the viral breakthrough “Sneakers”— which surpassed 49 million Spotify streams. Everything kicked into high gear with the arrival of “Not The 1975” though. It peaked in the Top 15 of the Adult Pop Airplay Chart, gathered 63 million-plus streams, and bulldozed the way for his 2025 debut LP, Going, Going, Gone. Of the latter, Melodic Magazine raved, “The debut is impressive in length and lyrical volume,” and GRAMMY.com promised, “Knox’s debut album, Going, Going, Gone, perfectly captures the essence of his artistry.” Marveling at his sold-out Webster Hall show, tmrw recalled, “the crowd down on the floor generated the kind of palpable electricity reserved for artists on the cusp of the proverbial rocket ship.” He also graced the bills of festivals such as Lollapalooza and Hangout Fest, appeared on tracks with Bilmuri and HARDY, and earned co-signs from Ed Sheeran and Matt Healy. After piling up hundreds of millions of streams, selling out shows, and earning critical acclaim, he returns home sonically and emotionally on his second full-length album, My Midwest Best [Atlantic Records]. These 12 tracks uncork a burst of Warped Tour-appropriate energy tailormade for soundtracking a montage from your favorite teen comedy, the best date you’ve ever been on, or a festival set at sundown.
