Today, London based Australian singer, songwriter and actress Charlotte MacInnes, releases her debut EP HIGHWATER (via Atlantic). The five track EP includes new single “Beast” alongside previous release “Struck”, which received early support from BBC Radio 1’s “Future Pop” and synth infused pop anthem “Celestial.”
With inspiration from the likes of Florence and the Machine, Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush, HIGHWATER is a collection of ethereal and sonically cinematic tracks that sway between hope and rage, showcasing Charlotte’s soaring vocals. HIGHWATER was written by Charlotte in collaboration with a heavy-hitting team including Ashnikko, Joe Janiak and Amanda Ghost and produced by Coffee (Dua Lipa, Jessie Ware, Bebe Rexha) and Zhone (Charli XCX, Zara Larson, Troye Sivan).
Charlotte commented, “I’ve been living with this new music for a while now and working with the most incredible people to bring it to life. I am in love with the magical yet honest world we’re building. The whole process was a very empowering catharsis, and I hope that feeling extends out to anyone that hears it.”

Beyond a standout turn as Daisy Buchanan in Florence Welch’s Gatsby, produced by the American Repertory Theatre, she has quietly prepared to introduce her artistry. The lifelong singer and songwriter has patiently waited for the right moment, and it has finally arrived in 2026.

Somewhere in the space between the earth and the sky, you’ll not only hear, but you’ll also feel the presence of Charlotte MacInnes. Though her music is rooted in raw and relatable emotion, her voice remains untethered from the ground beneath her feet as if breaking through the clouds on the trail of each crescendo. An eloquent songwriter, elegant empath, and enchanting vocalist, she imparts a natural mystique upon alternative pop anthems meant to enthrall, engage, and empower with elemental force. She grew up in the rural community of Albany, nearly five hours south of Perth in Western Australia. Boasting no traffic lights and an abundance of farmland, she describes it as “a beautiful, relatively untouched part of the world.” Accepted into the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), she honed her abilities throughout the next five years before relocating to Sydney. She got her big break with a part in the musical The Deb. This initial opportunity paved the way for her to star in North Shore—which soared to #1 in the US and UK on NETFLIX. Additionally, she played Daisy Buchanan in Florence Welch’s Gatsby, produced by the American Repertory Theatre to rave reviews.
