L.A.-based alt-pop duo Haute & Freddy have revealed their much-anticipated new single, “Sophie,” out now HERE. The track is accompanied by an official visualizer created by acclaimed filmmaker and photographer Silken Weinberg (known for her work on Ethel Cain’s Preacher’s Daughter and Perverts), premiering today on YouTube HERE.

“‘Sophie’ is about that person who lingers in the corners of your mind long after they’ve vanished from your life,” say Haute & Freddy. “You’re back in your hometown, sitting at the bar, and suddenly haunted by the idea they might walk through the door. You see them on a busy street – until you don’t. It’s a ghost story dressed as a love song, a fleeting glance at what could’ve been.”

Co-produced by Haute & Freddy alongside Bergen-based producer Askjell (Sigrid, Aurora, iris), “Sophie” follows their latest single “Shy Girl,” which has amassed over 2.4 million global streams following the official video’s exclusive premiere on V Magazine, who praised the song as a call to “move to the beat of their own synthpop drum” with visuals “rife with ornate birdcages and references to underground club culture of centuries past.”

Recently named by ROLLING STONE as an “Artist You Need To Know,” praising their “baroque, 18th-century-inspired fashion and Eighties-synth sound,” Haute & Freddy will celebrate “Sophie” – and new music on the horizon – with live performances at Portola (San Francisco, Sept 21), Austin City Limits (Austin, Oct 5) and Corona Capital (Mexico City, Nov 15). These dates follow their sold-out New York City live debut at The Slipper Room and a show-stealing set at Electric Forest (Rothbury, MI). Additional headline shows, festival appearances, and international dates will be announced soon.

The dazzling duo of Michelle Buzz and Lance Shipp have sparked a devoted fanbase – known as “The Royal Court” – with their spectacular, daring, and utterly unpredictable alt-pop. Their deep love for theater, obscure synths, and underground club culture infuses every track with audacious energy. Like runaway carnies crashing polite society’s veneer, Haute & Freddy channel the flair of an 18th-century escapade. Fans flock to their shows crafting jester hats, while balloon-twisting mimes crown the Royal Court in joyous rebellion.

Since their debut single “Scantily Clad,” which PAPER lauded as “an outsider’s fantasy that reads like a dream sequence,” Haute & Freddy have continued to enthrall with fan favorites including “Anti-Superstar“ and “Fashion Over Function.” With “Shy Girl” and now “Sophie,” the duo’s momentum continues to surge, promising more high drama, innovative shows, and unforgettable visuals ahead.
