Kavita Baliga Unveils Emotional Anthem "Lost in the Dark"
Singer-songwriter Kavita Baliga unveils her latest single, Lost in the Dark, a bold revival of the 1980s power ballad in 2025. The track channels the soaring emotion, anthemic energy, and slow dynamic build that defined the era, updated with a contemporary perspective and Baliga’s signature voice.
Featuring Grammy-winning guitarist Michael Thompson and 33x Grammywinning/ nominated producer/engineer Craig Bauer, the track blends smooth vocals juxtaposed by Thompson’s electric guitar power chords, lush harmonies, and vibey atmospheric synths into a cinematic, empowering experience. The single is available on all streaming platforms starting August 29, with a full promotional campaign including music video promotional clips, social media storytelling, press outreach, and a For Your Consideration submission to the 2026 Grammy Awards in the Alternative Music Performance category.

About
Originally a classical soprano, the versatile Indian-American singer has sung and performed across the world since 2008. She is most known for singing in Shekhar Kapur's [Elizabeth: The Golden Age] film PASSAGE with music by A.R. Rahman [Slumdog Millionaire.] Her early career involved session singing in Bollywood and regional Indian films, touring with the French band Olli Goes to Bollywood across France, and producing for artists in India and the UK.
Act 2 of Kavita's music career embarks on an exciting new chapter as a singer-songwriter, revealing a deeply personal side of her artistry. She weaves tales of love, loss, and self-discovery; melding genres like synth pop, alternative, R&B, Indian, and classical crossover. Her voice is sweet, soft, and airy.
