“Rubio possesses a hyper-femme dazzle… Her EPs vary in genre and sound, from indie rock to more hip-hop coded – and two are sung almost entirely in Spanish. But the whole enterprise reflects her pursuit of a coherent creative identity.” – THE NEW YORK TIMES

“Sunday Girl positions Rubio as a relatable, self-aware new voice blending alt-pop, her Latin roots and candid storytelling.” – WONDERLAND

“There’s sunshine in her wake, completely embodying the spirit of her culture and hometown of sparkling Los Angeles…(Rubio) has the look of someone who’s been up to no good and having pure fun.” – ONES TO WATCH

Acclaimed Mexican/Salvadoran-American singer-songwriter Niko Rubio is back with today’s premiere of “Fade Into You (Live From Honeysuckle Records),” a sultry live rendition of the Mazzy Star classic, available everywhere here. Rubio’s deeply personal version – which she performed nightly on her debut headline tour earlier this Spring – is also accompanied by an intimate performance video here.

“This cover is really special to me,” she shares. “I’ve loved Mazzy Star since I was little. Hope Sandoval is one of the first indie rock Latina legends from L.A., and I really wanted to pay homage to my city and Latin women in indie music. This song will live on forever…Fade into you forever <3”

“Fade Into You” marks Rubio’s first new music since the release of her critically acclaimed EP, Sunday Girl, earlier this April. The six-song project, available everywhere here, affirms the Los Angeles, CA-based artist as one of 2026’s most exciting new stars thanks to hits including “Pink Starburst,” “Five Star” and the irresistible title track, “Sunday Girl,” which was met with praise from outlets including HOLA! and Rolling Stone (which touted it among its “Songs You Need To Know” playlist).

Rubio – who recently graced the front page of the New York Times’ Style section and was hailed as “SoCal’s First Exciting New Pop Star Since Gwen Stefani” – celebrated the arrival of Sunday Girl with her first-ever headline run, The Sunday Girl Tour, which saw sold-out stops at iconic venues, including New York City’s Mercury Lounge and Los Angeles, CA’s The Echo. The latter show saw Rubio joined onstage by singer-songwriter Cuco for a live take on their collaborative fan favorite, “Sirena,” as well as by Incubus co-founder/guitarist Mike Einziger, who accompanied her for a once-in-a-lifetime rendition of Incubus’ iconic indie classic, “Drive.” Additionally, this week saw Rubio taking the stage at Los Angeles’ historic Hollywood Bowl, joining her friend Zuri Marley for a “Reggae Night XXIV” performance of their hit collaboration, “Ring Ring.”

About

With over 25M streams to date, Niko Rubio occupies a lane all her own, seamlessly blending the sun-soaked grooves of reggae, the storytelling and soul of Latin music, and the edge of indie-pop into a sound that feels uniquely California—making her one of the only emerging artists actively bridging all three worlds today. Named by Premio Lo Nuestro to their 2026 “Artistas 2 Watch initiative as well as Pandora’s 2026 “Latin Artists to Watch” list, Rubio is currently riding a wave of momentum that has seen her social media following more than double while garnering her strongest streaming growth to date. Recent months have seen unforgettable performances at Los Angeles’ Rockwell Lounge and Hotel Cafe, as well as a collaboration with Zuri Marley at The LinkUp, honoring this year’s reggae and dancehall GRAMMY® Award nominees. Indeed, Rubio has distinguished herself as a formidable live performer, including dates with The Tulips, Omar Apollo, Role Model, Caroline Polacheck, and The Marías, a compelling showcase for Pigeons & Planes’ “Medium Sized Backyard,” and stage-stealing festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Summerfest, Corona Capital, California Roots, and SXSW. Stay tuned for more from Niko Rubio in 2026!
