Acclaimed Mexican/Salvadoran-American singer-songwriter Niko Rubio has shared her eagerly anticipated new EP, Ring Ring, available now HERE. The Los Angeles, CA-based artist will celebrate today’s release with a very special hometown live performance set for tonight at Los Angeles, CA’s Moroccan Lounge. 10% of all merch sales at the show will be donated to CHIRLA (Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights). In addition, The Moroccan Lounge will contribute a $1 donation for every ticket sold.
Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner Lester Mendez (Shakira, Santana, Nelly Furtado), Ring Ring includes the intoxicating lead single and title track, “Ring Ring,” available now HERE. A sultry official music video – directed by Los Angeles-based filmmaker William Bonnell and award-winning British fine artist Lucia Farrow – is streaming now on YouTube HERE. Co-written by Rubio, Mike Rincon, and Julian Bernal (Kali Uchis, Sebastian Yatra) and already a fan favorite thanks to a series of hugely popular teases across social media, “Ring Ring” is powered by boisterous horns, a laidback reggae guitar groove, and Rubio’s sun-kissed jazzy cadence. Ring Ring is further highlighted by the tender, Spanish guitar-inflected ballad, “Quisiera Saber,” available now HERE alongside an official music video streaming HERE.

“Sonically inspired by the California beaches and trips to Mexico City, my second Spanish EP Ring Ring might be my favorite project I’ve ever made,” Rubio says. “I wanted to be really honest and real, but I try not to take myself too seriously. There’s a song you can dance to, one you can cry to, one you can sing along to, and one that’ll make you wanna do it all simultaneously (let me know if you know which one I’m talking about when you hear it)…. If you choose to listen to this EP the old-fashioned way, then you’ll have to find a body of water, grab a margarita, and your closest friends. Also, don’t forget to wear sunscreen!!”

About

Akin to the ebb and flow of a Venice Beach wave at sunset, Niko Rubio wades through styles, vibes, and emotions. As if rising out of the ocean, her swell of inspiration crests by absorbing everything from traditional Mexican Ranchera music to nineties alternative rock and 21st century indie pop, reaching shore, and leaving a hypnotic hybrid in its wake. In her words, she makes music “for the Latina girls who love Gwen Stefani, Foster the People, and Julieta Venegas, heard all of the classic Latin artists at a quinceañera, and went back to school where everybody was listening to Lana Del Rey.” Following an independent grind, the Mexican-Salvadorian-American singer and songwriter posted up millions of streams on 2021’s Wish You Were Here EP. People appropriately christened her “California girl meets Latina queen.” Along the way, she graced the stages of festivals such as Lollapalooza and BottleRock in addition to supporting Omar Apollo on tour. She further honed a genre-breaking, yet culture-integrating vision with her 2023 EP, Un Millón de Besos. A sought-after songwriter, she has notably penned songs for the likes of Anuel AA, The Warning, and Gwen Stefani, with whom she collaborated on “True Babe” and “Purple Irises” [with Blake Shelton]. Coming full circle in 2024, she paid homage to her grandmother and grandfather on her Mar y Tierra EP. It marked her first full Spanish-language effort, produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner Lester Mendez and co-written with Maria Vertiz, Cuco, and León Leiden. Among many highlights, “Sirena” [feat. Cuco] amassed 1.4 million Spotify streams. After organically building an audience, Niko knows who her people are, and she feeds them with her 2025 Ring Ring EP [Atlantic Records] and much more to come.
