Rising Chilean Sensation AKRIILA Returns with "roger"

Rising Chilean singer, songwriter, and rap sensation AKRIILA returns today with her new single, “roger,” available now via Atlantic Records here. Pairing glitching rock and electronic production with vulnerable lyrics that touch on the hope of finding connection with someone who understands your emptiness, the track is joined by an official music video, directed by visual artist/filmmaker Chris Cadaver and photographer Julian Burgueño, streaming now on YouTube here. “roger” marks the latest single from AKRIILA’s eagerly awaited new album, lucy miró al mundo y notó que está girando, es mi segundo disco (lucy looked at the world and noticed it’s spinning), arriving everywhere later this year.

AKRIILA will herald the new album with a busy international live schedule, including her first-ever US headline run. The tour – which sold out immediately upon announcement, prompting several additional dates and upgraded venues – gets underway next week with a three-night stand at Brooklyn, NY’s Elsewhere on July 7-9, followed by eagerly awaited stops in Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. This fall, AKRIILA will embark on a series of dates in Europe, making stops in the UK, France, Spain, and more, as well as the Latin American leg of her “lucy tour,” visiting Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, and Argentina through early November.

Last month, AKRIILA made her breakthrough Atlantic Records debut with “suave,” a collaboration with digicore sensation Jane Remover, available everywhere now here. Praised by Rolling Stone en Español as “an ideal introduction to AKRIILA’s new era, a bilingual, chaotic, and emotionally intense hit that further expands the Chilean artist’s sonic universe,” the track sees the two genre-defying artists coming together, merging an array of influences through a haze of warped synths, intimate vocals, and indie-hyperpop textures.
