THE LOST BOYS, “The Best New Musical on Broadway” (The Washington Post, New York Post), is now the most Tony Award-Winning New Musical on Broadway. In celebration of Gay Pride Month and in partnership with the show’s producers James Carpinello, Marcus Chait, and Patrick Wilson, Atlantic Records has dropped “Superpower,” an advance track from THE LOST BOYS (Original Broadway Cast Recording). Performed by Benjamin Pajak (as Sam), “Superpower” is available now at all DSPS and streaming services here.

“I've had so many people come up to me, especially kids, saying that they've seen themselves represented on stage in that number and as an actor and as a performer, that's the best compliment you could ever get,” Pajak shared with Gold Derby. “I know that that's all I ever wanted.”

"The story of someone's queerness being what makes them special has kind of been told," The Rescues band member AG previously told Gold Derby. "We wanted to write an elevated story about how your superpower isn't being gay, it's because you're different and being gay is part of being different. That was what was personally exciting to me as a gay person writing that song: Sam isn't defined by being gay, it's just part of who he is."

THE LOST BOYS (Original Broadway Cast Recording), the official companion to the 12-time Tony Award-nominated Broadway smash features music and lyrics by 2026 two-time Tony Award nominees The Rescues will be released digitally on Friday July 24th. The album is produced by The Rescues (Kyler England, AG, Gabriel Mann) alongside Ethan Popp, recorded by Ian Kagey, and mixed by Richard Furch. Fans can pre-order the full Cast Recording here. Performed by the Tony Award®-winning Broadway production’s LJ Benet (as Michael) and Maria Wirries (as Star), the show-stopping romantic ballad, “Now, Forever,” was also recently released and is available to listen to here.

THE LOST BOYS (Original Broadway Cast Recording) continues Atlantic Records’ long-running string of landmark Original Broadway Cast Recordings, including 2015’s GRAMMY® Award-winning, RIAA Diamond-certified milestone, Hamilton, 2017’s GRAMMY® Award-winning Dear Evan Hansen, 2021’s GRAMMY® Award-winning Jagged Little Pill, 2024’s GRAMMY® Award-nominated musicals, The Notebook and Suffs, last year’s GRAMMY® Award-nominated Just In Time, and the recently released live recording of Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years (25th Anniversary Live at the London Palladium).

THE LOST BOYS won 4 Tony Awards® for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical (Shoshana Bean), Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical (Ali Louis Bourzgui), Best Scenic Design of a Musical (Dane Laffrey), and Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Michael Arden and Jen Schriever), 11 Theatre Fans’ Choice Awards (including Best New Musical and Best Original Score), 2 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards for Favorite New Musical and Favorite Featured Actress in a Musical (Shoshana Bean), the Clarence Derwent Award for most promising breakthrough performances of the season for Ali Louis Bourzgui, the Theatre World Award for LJ Benet, 2 Outer Critics Circle Awards for Outstanding Scenic Design of a Play or Musical (Dane Laffrey) and Outstanding Lighting Design of a Play or Musical (Michael Arden and Jen Schriever), and 2 Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Scenic Design of a Musical (Dane Laffrey) and Outstanding Lighting Design of a Musical (Michael Arden and Jen Schriever).
