Rising Soul-Pop Artist Erin Grand Unveils Next Chapter with New Single “Lightning in a Bottle”

Rising soul-pop artist Erin Grand is introducing the next chapter of her sound with the release of “Lightning in a Bottle,” which is now available on all streaming platforms here.
Known for her genre-blending style and powerhouse vocals, Grand is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Raised on a steady mix of country, rock, and soul, she draws inspiration from artists like Grace Potter, Bonnie Raitt, Prince, and Amy Winehouse, bringing a fresh, soulful tenor to everything she writes and sings.

Though still early in her career, Grand has already made waves with features on Spotify’s Fresh Finds and Young Nashville playlists, Apple Music’s New In Country, and Pandora’s Rising Women of Country. She has opened for major acts including Dan + Shay, Rascal Flatts, Raelynn, and Maddie & Tae, and earned praise from outlets like American Songwriter, The Boot, and Celeb Secrets Country for her emotional depth and vocal delivery. Her 2024 EP The Woman I Am marked the conclusion of her country chapter, and with her new single, “Lightning in a Bottle,” she launches fully into her new soul-and-R&B-driven era.
Co-written by Erin Grand, Channing Krentz, and Alex Kiel, "Lightning in a Bottle" is about finding love when you least expect it. Erin Grand reflects on how two people who seemed like total opposites ended up being the perfect match. With lyrics that compare their differences and the surprise of it all, the song tells the story of love that felt unlikely but turned out to be just right. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the best things happen when you’re not looking.
“I wrote this song almost three years ago with my then-boyfriend and now husband in mind,” shares Grand. “It’s about thinking you’ll never find the love of your life, and even when a good man came into my world, I couldn’t believe it could actually work. It felt nearly impossible, hence the title ‘Lightning in a Bottle.’”
The single was produced by Brad Hill (Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne) and Alex Kiel and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Jesse Ernster (Doja Cat, Burna Boy), layering Grand’s soulful vocals over a rich, cinematic arrangement.
