TROPICS Unveils Hypnotic New Single 'Cold Euphoria'

Tropics (Chris Ward), the British-born, LA-based producer and musician, releases his captivating new single 'Cold Euphoria' today, August 12th. 'Cold Euphoria' serves as the fifth offering from his highly anticipated album 'Reality Fever', due September 3rd via his own imprint Modern Entity.
'Cold Euphoria' continues Ward's exploration of emotional extremes through his signature blend of indie-rock, post-punk, and electronica. The single exemplifies the album's central theme of contrasting states – the juxtaposition of being "chilled out" while experiencing "throbbing underlying angst" that defines the 'Reality Fever' experience.
Entirely self-written, produced, and recorded in his Los Angeles studio, the track showcases Ward's most dynamic work to date, featuring the grittier, DIY approach that characterizes the upcoming album. 'Cold Euphoria' balances beat-driven catharsis with introspective moments, creating what Ward describes as a "sonic dive into the inner monologue of modern life."
"This album highlights a lot of emotional states but the focus for me was anxiety, spiralling, social pressure and the intensity of inner monologue that grips you and is hard to silence,"explains Ward. "I felt thrashing out and making an album with a hard lean on live instruments again was huge therapy for me, especially as I wanted to create something I could blast in the car."
'Cold Euphoria' follows the release of previous singles 'Turnsick', 'Mind', 'Ionian Mirage' and 'Cherry', building anticipation for the 10-track 'Reality Fever' album. Known for his dreamy, genre-fluid sound, Tropics has earned acclaim from Pitchfork, The Fader, and Resident Advisor, with collaborations including Badbadnotgood and Petite Noir.
'Cold Euphoria' is available now on all streaming platforms. 'Reality Fever' is out September 3rdvia Modern Entity.
